Capodanze

Capodanze is a folk dance festival that happens in Puglia, southern Italy.
Musicians from many European countries come here to entertain the dancers with traditional music from Italy, France, Spain, Israel and many others.
Different workshops, where people can learn many ways of dancing and different shades of already known dances, accompany the beginners as well as the experts.
While the days are passing, Capodanze shows the strong spirit of conviviality that has been created in the dormitories, in the hallways, in the cafeteria. People end up preparing a long table on the floor to celebrate the New Year's Eve and live with the musicians inside their rooms. Unknowingly, dancers are immersed in a Mazurka in front of the bathroom door, in a Pizzica within a classroom or in a Tarantella in the outdoor square.
When the festival ends, through the streets of the town that hosted it, people can still hear the notes of the accordion played for the dancers that don't want to leave the bucolic atmosphere.

Capodanze è un festival di danze popolari che si svolge in Puglia, sud Italia.
Musicisti del sud e da tanti altri paesi dell'Europa giungono fino a qui per intrattenere i ballerini con musiche della tradizione italiana, francese, spagnola, israeliana e tanti altri ancora.
Numerosi stage di danza, dove si possono apprendere diversi modi di ballare e sfumature diverse di balli già conosciuti, accompagnano i ballerini neofiti cosi come i più esperti.
Nello scorrere dei giorni Capodanze mostra il forte spirito di convivialità che si crea nelle camerate, nei corridoi, in mensa.
Inconsapevolmente ci si trova immersi in una Mazurka davanti alla porta dei bagni, in una Pizzica all'interno di un'aula scolastica o una Tarantella in piazza. Si prepara una lunga tavolata a terra per festeggiare il capodanno e si convive con i musicisti mentre provano all'interno delle loro camere.
